Welcome to the Learning Kaleidoscope. This pages serves as a portal for thinking about effective learning designs. My dissertation research focused on how technology-mediated activities in a cross-community partnership empowered youth to have a voice in the organization of their learning. My current research interests center on youth technology practices and interactions in informal learning environments. This research draws on theories from cultural sociology to examine the interrelationship between culture, history, and social interactions and how they inform emergent learning designs. What you will find here is an accumulation of resources for youth technology practices and research, learning technologies, and model lesson plans that use technology as a truly integral part of leveraging knowledge building, inquiry, collaboration, and knowledge production.
